Waikaito currently has about 3,200 Muslim worshipers and covers 45 different cultural groups that have each their representatives (Anglicans, Baha'is, Catholics, Mormons, Hindus, Jews, Muslims, Methodists, Presbyterians, Quakers, Buddhists and Sikhs) in the Waikato interfaith Council.
